Gut in a Rut? Heal for Real!

In 2015, Renee earned her Master's of Science in Nursing Degree and Family Nurse Practitioner Degree, and became board certified through the AANP the same year.  Renee became motivated to  start her nursing journey in 2003 when she became a Certified Nurse Assistant after her mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  Renee continued on to earned her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 2008.  Renee has worked in a variety of practice settings, including medical/surgical, critical care, primary care, retail clinics, and advanced wound care.  She has completed her certification in Functional Medicine through the Functional Medicine Academy.

Like many practitioners, Renee came to discover Functional Medicine from her own health journey with Auto Immune Illnesses, Connective Tissue and Inflammation Disorders, and more.  As a healthcare professional, Renee has always been passionate about finding the root cause of illness. Functional Medicine goes beyond the conventional medical model of symptoms treating and identifies the root cause of symptoms to support her patients' well-being. This moved Renee to launch her practice, Primary Roots Functional Medicine, a holistic health clinic, that coaches clients through their unique health journeys.
